Dr. Steven J. Hausman is a recognized futurist, technology consultant, author and nationally top-ranked speaker in the area of emerging technologies. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with B.A., M.S. (Insect physiology and developmental biology) and Ph.D. (immunogenetics and transplantation biology) degrees. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Cancer Research in Philadelphia he joined the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a researcher and eventually rose to become Deputy Director of the National Institutes of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. His professional affiliations include the: American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Association of Immunologists, American Chemical Society, American Society for Cell Biology, Society for In Vitro Biology, Transplantation Society, National Speakers Association and the Global Speakers Federation. Following a 31 year career at the NIH he started his own consulting and speaking firm where he makes presentations on emerging technologies that include nanotechnology, 3D printing, bionics and human enhancement, robotics, wearable technology, biometrics, the Internet of Things, brain-machine interfaces, aging the history of technology, and much more.
